Hi, I'm Rachael.
The face behind Rose and Willow. A photographer and lover of real stories and rural life.
I began my photography journey in the world of weddings, documenting celebrations of every shape and size. I loved (and still love) the joy, the emotion, and the beautiful chaos of a wedding day. But after becoming the mother of two gorgeous girls (the inspiration behind my business name) and having a few years away from the lens, my perspective shifted. I found myself drawn to quieter moments — to small things that tell a bigger story. Now based in Oundle, Northamptonshire, I’ve found my passion in the simple, beautiful stories that unfold in everyday life — whether that’s a joyful family session in golden hour light, a quiet rural moment on a farm, or the bond between people and their beloved animals.
These days, my work is a blend of everything I care about:
Rural Business Photography — creating natural, story-driven imagery for branding, websites, and editorial features. I work with farmers, makers, growers, and countryside businesses who want to show the heart behind their work.
Family Portraits — relaxed, meaningful sessions that celebrate connection, personality, and the wonderfully imperfect beauty of real family life. Children, grandparents, pets - all are covered under my Family Portrait sessions.
Small, Intimate Weddings — I take great joy in shooting a limited number of weddings each year, focusing on smaller celebrations where the emphasis is on connection.
Whether I’m photographing a family in their garden, a shepherd in the hills, or a couple saying their vows in a quiet spot, my goal is always the same: to create honest, emotive images that feel true to you. I specialise in bright, natural images, blending candid joy with gentle guidance to help you feel relaxed and at ease in front of the camera.
